After a summer break, our monthly gathering called Lunchkins is coming back. If you are new to the parish or if you have never taken the opportunity to experience Lunchkins, here is what it is all about. Lunchkins is a potluck so you will find a variety of food and desserts. Or if you decide at the last minute to come, you may contribute a cash donation toward the paper products—there is usually a basket or bowl at the start of the buffet line.

Those whom the Community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is the wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel.
Next weekend, the diocese has requested a special collection for the national university of the Catholic Church in the United States. The university was founded and sponsored by the USA bishops with the approval of the Holy See and is committed to being a comprehensive Catholic and American institution of higher learning.

The scam artists are making their rounds again. They have adjusted their messages to include Fr. James as well as Fr. Cuddy. The messages seem to be making a plea to the recipient of the message to please respond to it.
One of the most rewarding ministries in our parish is Hospital Ministry. If you are an Extraordinary Minister and have a couple of hours a month, please consider being a volunteer to visit our parish members in the hospital and bring them Communion.
Although His Holiness Pope Francis might have a private or official e-mail address, he does not have a publicly listed email address. Those who wish to contact him by modern means are not relegated to snail mail, however; he does have an active Twitter feed.
