Through the St. Vincent de Paul Society 5th Sunday collection you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. Please know that your dollars, quarters, nickels or dimes are combined with the funds placed by others in the 5th Sunday Collection.
If you have either greeting cards to give or addresses of someone you think could use a spiritual lift, send the cards or mailing information to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. An individual or group may ask the priest to offer a Mass for several different intentions: healing, thanksgiving, birthdays and anniversary. In addition, Masses could be offered for the repose of the soul of those who have died. Some people have Masses said in lieu of flowers for a funeral. Intentions could also be scheduled on the deceased person’s birthday or anniversary of death.
Every Thursday after the 8:30 am Mass, a group of parishioners meets in the cry room in the church for Centering Prayer & Lectio Divina on the Sunday Gospel. It lasts for about an hour.
The SVdP Society would like to introduce their new ministry to you –The Post, a greeting card ministry! If you have names and addresses of people you feel might enjoy a greeting card, let the Society know. Also, if you have a “supply” of cards (or even one or two) you would like to share, they would be appreciated. The Post will remember those that might need a little “lift”.
Lunchkins is this Wed in the Community Center at 11:30 am. After an opening prayer, people serve their plates from the delicious offerings and find a place to sit where they can visit with others. It is not just for Catholics, so if you have neighbors, relatives or friends of a different religious background or no religious affiliation, please feel free to invite them.
