St. Thomas the Apostle is blessed to have a caring group of parishioners who compose our committee. The Condolence Committee has several teams so the same people are not called upon repetitively. We would be pleased if you would consider joining us in this ministry. Please contact Mike Taylor at 596-1214.
On Sat, Mar 2 and Sun, Mar 3 the Good Shepherd Showcase will be open in the east foyer following all Masses. With Easter and Confirmations approaching, there are plenty of items both suitable and affordable for that “special one”.
On Mar 3 we will take up the Collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports the Church in more than 20 countries that are still struggling to recover in the aftermath of communist rule. Funds from this collection support pastoral care, catechesis, building renovations, and seminary formation.
Please join us for Lunchkins on Feb 13 in the CC at 11:30 am if possible. No admission, no agenda-just a gathering of friends for fellowship and a chance to meet new friends.
The Black and Indian Mission Collection exists to help communities build the Church and preach the Gospel of Jesus among the African American, Native American, and Alaskan Native people of God. Every year, it is the amazing generosity of the Catholic faithful who enable the Black and Indian Mission Office to support the organization.
Lent begins on March 6 and we will be having daily Masses on Mon - Fri at 8:30am (6:30am on Fri) and at Noon through Mon, Apr 15. We are in need of Readers, Altar Servers, and Eucharistic Ministers to be scheduled for these Masses. Please prayerfully consider attending daily Mass during Lent and let me know if you are available to fill any of these positions on a daily or weekly basis. Thank you for your service. Arise is a program sponsored by the Cursillo Movement of South MS, another program of the Diocese of Biloxi. It is for non-Catholic spouses of practicing Catholics; Catholics who have been away from the church for a while; those without a current church/religion who are searching for a new one or more meaningful faith experience; and, those taking instruction in the Catholic faith.
