The 7th Annual competition for the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus (young artists, ages 15-25) is scheduled for Saturday, October 27 at MS Gulf Coast Community College, Jefferson Davis Campus in Gulfport.

To parents who would like to get involved with Edge and Life Teen: There is a Parents Team that provides food for Sunday evenings. The teams are divided into two to four different families each taking on two different times during the year.
The raffle tickets are on sale and will remain available until the drawing on Sat, Oct 13 at 8 pm. Cost of the tickets is $50 each. This event is on Oct 12&13 at the Pavilion. Rides and entertainment, as well as food, will be available.
August 11 is the feast day for St. Philomena, the patron saint of babies, infants, and youth. Her remains were discovered in May 1802 in the Catacomb of Priscilla. Three tiles enclosing the tomb bore an inscription, Pax Tecum Filumena (i.e. “Peace be unto you, Philomena”), that was taken to indicate that her name (in the Latin of the inscription ) was Filumena, the English form of which is Philomena.
Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than just a believer — He wants you to be his disciple and friend. Sessions are Wed mornings at 9 am, beginning Aug 8, and continuing for 8 weeks. Classes will be held in the Cry Room immediately after Morning Mass.
Our judicial vicar, Fr. Charles Nutter will give several talks on the Annulment Process next month. People entering RCIA this fall are strongly encouraged to attend. Fr. Charles will discuss how to apply and what is involved in the process and have Q&A at the end of each talk.
