Saint Thomas has a reputation as a welcoming parish. This is your chance as a community to show it.
The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of Catechumens is the first of the “threshold rites” of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), and the first public ritual. Those men and women who have expressed an interest in the Catholic Church are officially welcomed as disciples, members (although not yet full members) of the household of faith. They are literally marked with the cross of Christ as God’s own. The gathered community and its welcome are essential to this rite.
The Rite of Acceptance will be Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the 11:30 Mass. You are invited to meet the candidates and catechumens on the front steps and join them in a welcoming procession into the church.
