We have a great group of men and women who bring Holy Communion to patients in Memorial Hospital every day except Saturday. Our goal is to reach everyone who is a member of our parish and even those who are not members of our parish and may not have another affiliation. The BIG PROBLEM is that because of the privacy act, the hospital often will not give us information about patients in the hospital. They do provide a list in the chaplain’s office for use by our hospital visitors. When a person is admitted to the hospital, they MUST tell the Admissions Office that they are members of our parish to be included on that list. Otherwise, we have no way of knowing sometimes that a person is in the hospital. Please, when you go into the hospital, let the Admissions Office know that you are a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
