On June 13th of this year, Fr. Louis Lohan will celebrate the anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Would it seem that a man as young as he is has been a priest for 45 years! After attending local grade and high schools in his native land, Louis Lohan entered St. Patrick College in Carlow, Ireland. Shortly after graduation, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Biloxi, MS. He first served at Our Lady of Victories in Pascagoula. His priestly ministry has taken him to our Mission in Saltillo, Mexico (4 years), Our Lady of the Gulf (2 years), Sacred Heart in D’Iberville (4 years), the churches in Wiggins, Lucedale and Leakesville (9 years) and then he came to St. Thomas the Apostle in Long Beach in 1993. It has been our blessing to have had him as pastor of our parish for 25 years. Please continue to pray for Fr. Louis as he celebrates this milestone in his priestly ministry and ask God to watch over him and keep him healthy as he continues his journey. Congratulations, Fr. Louis, and thank you for your ministry. Thanks be to God for leading you to the priesthood and to Long Beach. Safe travels between your homes, Ireland & Long Beach.
