Wake up! Wake up! Arise Jerusalem.” (Is 51:17)
More than 500 years before Jesus was born, the Jewish people lived in exile. Removed from their land, they questioned God and despaired of returning home. In these few chapters written during the Babylonian exile, Isaiah exhorts his people to see God at work among them. God is at work through the grand sweeps of history, but also in the hearts of His people.
“For I, the Lord, am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior. I give Egypt as ransom for you, Ethiopia and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.” (Is 43:3,4)
How does someone feeling lost get reconnected with God? Join us in this study from the Book of Isaiah as we see how Isaiah addressed the fears and doubts of a people feeling apart and separated from a God mightily at work to draw them back to Him.
