Hail Mary
Every Wednesday in May at 7:00Why is Mary so important to our Catholic faith? We turn to her in prayer, in the mass, and in the Rosary. We honor her with special feasts and place images of her in our churches and in our homes. Join us during May as we will look at scripture and the catechism to explore the roles of Mary in the Church: Mary as Mother of God, as our mother, as co-redeemer with her Son, and as Queen of Heaven. Sessions are held each Wednesday in May, starting May 6th and running through May 27th, in room B22 (2nd floor, NE corner of the Parish Office Complex). No pre-registration is necessary. May 6 Week 1 – Mary, Mother of God
Read Luke 1, 2 and CCC 466, 721 – 723
Mary is the bridge between the promise of the Old Testament and its fulfillment in the New.
May 13 Week 2 – Mary, Our Mother
Read John 2 and 19, Acts 1 and CCC 963, 964
A new family is formed, with Mary as our mother.
May 20 Week 3 – Mary, Co-Redeemer
Read Genesis 3, Luke 4: 1-13, and CCC 967 – 970
Mary still lives out her role in cooperation with Christ in the redemption of man.
May 27 Week 4 – Mary, Queen of Heaven
Read 1 Kings 2:12-20, Revelation 12, and CCC 966, 974
Mary is our royal advocate at the throne of God.
